Boredom and Curiosity
Since school was in it's "welcome back" week and my work schedule was relaxed, I was staring at my car wondering what else I could do to it that would be affordable and time consuming. I came across a CG picture of the pre-production interior and thought it would be cool to make mine look similar.
Here is that CG picture:

After six hours of labor and brainstorming here is what I produced: (pardon the picture quality of my phone):

here are the doors:

I am 95% done. I need the 5" piece to the left of the instrument cluster and a final cleaning before full completion. The lights are made by Pilot Automotive, part number cz-184b. Installation was kind of tricky because I had to run the wires from the doors to the center console and replace my cigarette lighter with a rocker switch to control the lights. Once I am completely finished better pictures will be posted. What do yall think?

I don't know what GM was afraid of because the way my seat is positioned is impossible to see any glare from these lights. As a matter of fact, you would have to be 4' tall and have the seat up all the way to see any glare, and if you do, it is well above the A1S line anyway.
Anyway as promised, here are some better quality pics of the interior:
