a friend of mine told me about a modification to the detent spring on the shifter of the 6 speed manual transmission that mustang and vette guys have been doing for a while. it is even more helpful to the short throw shifters. basically u add a shim or two to the detent spring on the side of the trans wich in turn lessens the effort required to shift through the gate. i searched for it on our forum but didnt find anything so i then looked at the vette forums. there were a lot of mixed reviews some liked it some didnt, i however love it and think it was one of the best cheap mods around.it shifts much smoother with very little effort. i thought i would share with the rest of you in case you were thinking about this mod.

so far i havnt seen any but some people have added too many shims and made it too loose

 

This is also known as the Venom mod. It removes some of the notchiness in the Corvettes shifts, but I don't think it will apply to the Camaro.

 

it does apply to the camaro as well as mustangs and corvettes it is a transmission related thing not a body type
