Lightbulb 5th Gen. & GM's gap in in-car connectivity

GM is missing the boat on the 5th Gen. Camaro in connectivity:

During a CES keynote address, Alan Mulally, the CEO of the automotive giant, talked up his company's initiatives in getting Internet-based applications into millions of its cars.

Why oh why is there no NAV System & HD Radio option on the 5th Gen.? Scott S. says GM needs money, well make the options available for us to buy what we want and GM will make money... Also, once there is a NAV screen, they should add seamless video input ports for use with say an iPhone...

Yes, forget Sync, give me the equivalent of a Mac Mini & iPhone in the car -- add some technology options to compliment the sex appeal & muscle... ;-)

Indeed. Who cares?

It's a car. It should not be an office, living space, or movie theater. Good drivers just drive.

What happened to the days when a radio with am AND fm was cool. Why do you need a gosh darn hard drive in your car? I drive my car, and live in my house. Its not a camper. Granted, some like that frilly foo foo stuff, so make it an option but absolutley not standard. Blegh!!

hey DER!

it WOULD be nice to have some of those options in the camaro. while yes, its a muscle car, many of these cars are not bought by gear-heads. there are alot of people that want a peice of the action with a little modern technological comforts. and lets face it, were about a decade into the 2000's. bluetooth and similar technology is everywhere, why not just plug it into the camaro?

I get so sick of hearing from people, "well, your car may be fast, but it doesnt have.........." maybe its time we got fast AND fancy

I dunno,count me in the caveman camp I guess,my 4th gen has AC,CC,PW,PDL,and more.
I'd trade it all in a heartbeat to have my old '69 back with roll up windows, lights, wipers, horn & heater and that's about it,not even power steering.
I sure don't need all that other high tech gadgetry,if I wanted that in a new car I'd buy a Caddy not a Camaro.
I loved that '69,so simple that nothing much ever went wrong and most of the power went to the wheels.
I guess I can see how some would want all that stuff, trouble is if they offer it finding a simple car at a dealer with muscle and not all the frills will be tough.

all this tech in a car just sounds like an accident waiting to happen.

Yup,less stuff = less trouble over the long haul + I don't need it to enjoy a muscle car.
