2011 Camaro SS convertible
I have a 2011 Camaro SS the oil pump went out at 100,000 mi is that normal maintenance was always kept well. Cuz they got into the engine they're going to have to replace the trim and lifters. The question is is that normal wear and tear at 100,000 mi
Trim and lifters? Voice text screw up meant to be cam?
First off you didn't say if it's a V6 or V8 and if any mods were done etc.
That said 100K seems a bit early for such issues but if the oil pump failed prematurely you're lucky the whole engine isn't toast.

Warning came on had it towed immediately did not drive it. Had a new pump on drove 6 miles lifters making noise had it towed back was told cam was bad. Putting in GM cam still no modifications. When I get it back is there a break in? Wy research told me oil pump sometimes fails at 79k seems like, as much as I paid for it new, I would think it should last longer than that. Regular service maybe it's a fluke.
Well that's a bummer, roller lifters shouldn't need much of a break in. I think now that you mention it I've heard of this before with some cars having early oil pump failure.
If all else is good in your motor I would expect you should be good to go for another 200,000 miles or so.
