agreed, and if thats the case, they will go in all the gm cars, not just the corvette, gm does not like to have two diff. gens of motors in their cars at the same time

 

The '09 Camaro include two v-6's and a few v-8's. On the V-8 tabel now is an LS3 engine with L92 cylinder heads. This engine will be installed in teh Z28 and produce somewhere in the neighborhood of 400-450 horses. Additionally, there is talk about a supercharged 550 hhp Z28 engine with a Roots-style blower. As a matter of fact, the new camaro's design has involved a lot of Cadillac engineers. Chevrolet also plans to offer a 1LE package (sever-duty components) for police and limited retail purchase. The Camaro will also include the following:
[ul][*]Four-wheel vented 14 inch brake rotors.[*]Progressive rate suspension springs.[*]Available Corvette 6.2 L LS small block.[*]Active fuel management.[*]Widely spaced gear rations. [/ul]

 

I find your suppositions interesting as Chevy/GM has confirmed very little as fact about what will and will not be in the new Camaro. Could you give us a link to your info?I'm sure that are many of us that would like to see confirmed statements about what will be in the new Camaro, but so far there is not much.

My wife works at GM as an unclassified and does have some inside info., even if it is as yet, unofficial. However, all the info. I have given here can also be found in publications such as Chevy High Performance, Muscle Car Review and I believe even, Hot Rod.

Magazines in general are the last ones to get details correct on new models/options/standard equipment, usually they get a few things right and miss a lot of them (same thing goes for internet web pages). Everything you mentioned has been discussed/debated for quite some time on many other forums and there have been some pretty good "hints" (i.e. not denying something that is likely true)from GM/Chevy people that participate there though they never come out and give specifics. Sorry, I'll wait for Chevyto officially confirm things before saying it's so.

Of course, it will be what it ends up. Even official info. often changes when the time comes. I don't know how many times I heard that the Camaro/Firebird was going to end up as a front wheel drive platform. However, I thinkthe information that I printed is the closest you can come to of what things will probably end up. But right now all we can do is speculate until we get the chance to buy one.

This will be the corvettes new engine because the camaro has to be a little slower then the vette the camaro will get the 6.0 ls2 and mabe the ls7 7.0 for the larger engine and the corvette will have the ls9 so the vette is more powerfull

 

It has been posted on many forums, many times that the LS2 is being phased out, so I would not look foran LS2in the new Camaro.

Why would the factory go supercharger over turbocharger? Any theories?
