if i can offer some advice, you may be better off going with a what's called a short block motor...basically you get a fully assembled brand new motor from the factory but it lacks such parts as the heads, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, and the water pump and such, but the interior of the engine is fully assembled (pistons, rods, crankshaft, oil pump, ect.) If the rest of your engine is functional all you would have to replace would be gaskets when you reasembled the new engine...but that's a hell of a lot cheaper than buying an entirely new engine outright

The legal department told me great things. weve got 3 routes to travel. 1. we do something called recission or something like that. the dealership and i made a deal id give him 3400 for a 70k car, when instead he gave me a 140k car.. not what i wanted. so i can return the vehicle and he has to give me my money back.. which would suck for him hed lose 3400 AND have a camaro with a blown engine. 2. He could pay to repair it, probably the smartest least expensive route for him to take. 3. we could contact the state and complain about odometer fraud. the numbers are so close together as far as dates of odometer reading goes that its likely he could have done it.

i feel better but im not going to buy a motor because the lesser of the evils would be them repairing my car. its the most cost effective thing for them to do. instead of being out nearly 8k on a less than 3k car that does run or having the state take their license for selling a car with a rolled back odometer because even tho they may not be aware of it they still sold a car with a rolled odo. its like selling stolen property, just because you didnt know it was stolen or even if u did its still illegal.

Good for you. That illegal part, and who's actually liable could be a sticky part unless you have absolute proof that he knew about it (docs he had with both old and new mileage). But the threat of him having to go to court, or maybe losing his license, and even the bad publicity, should be enough incentive for him to do you right.

Yeah, if he doesnt comply im going to tell my 1sg and division legal he should be on the black list (soldiers arent allowed to go there or do business with him) which will take away some of his business. and ill go to the newspaper, tv news, bbb, everyone. someone will eventually listen and ill be able to pretty much force him out of business if he doesnt comply. i mean hes got one logical road out... i dont want to sue him for everything hes got i just want to get my car fixed.. i mean hell if the engine has 140k then the tranny more than likely does too and i didnt pay for a car with 140k on anything.. id settle for the engine but a transmission replacement would be ideal... i dont want a new motor and old trans...
