Default CO2 air intake cooler?

I am currently rebuilding my engine and converting it from a LT1 to a LT4.

I found a Air chiller like thing in a mag that I have but don't know how it will effect my engine.

It uses liquid CO2 that flows in to a bulb that is inside the air intake tube that cools the air.

But the on problem and reason I am forced to rebuild my engine is simple. I recently placed a TB bypass and that caused steam to build up in the back of the engine. The rea son this happened is because the coolant that flows through the TB is used to help convert the steam back into water and retune it to the system. The other reason for this is that it is a reverse flow coolant system that flows to the heads then the block. If you think I am wrong it is planly stated in the GM manuel for the year on my engine.

What I was wondering is if the cool air would hurt the system and was wanting some opinions.

Default RE: CO2 air intake cooler?

first time ive heard of something like that happening because of a throttle body bypass, the only thing the antifreeze does when it enter's the TB is warm the inside housing of the TB incase whoever owns the car might live in a cold climate, therefore keeping the throttle body from freezing shut. i know someone who uses C02 injection but its not exacly like you described it, he uses it on his twin turbo 3800 T/A, i guess it runs through his intercooler. It sounds like a good idea in the intake tube, as long as its not in the way of airflow, i thought of making a aluminum case that would surround the cold air filter and filling it with dry ice, but im not sure of its exact burn properties. If you want cold gas than just get an extra long fuel line, and coil it up inside a coffie jar or custom box with holes in it and fill with ice.

Its a little late but ya my dad said i could and it does work at the higher speeds better than the lower. It keeps the acceleration going if you can understand what i'm trying to say.

looks like a pretty good setup, just not sure of how much air resistance that cryo bulb creates
