Hello, I noticed a black plastic bulge protruding downward on the air intake hose On my 94 Lt1. It's part of the intake hose and sits right in front of the waterpump just after the mass-air sensor. I'm just wondering what is the purpose of it? Is it to trap debris or act as a sound resonator?

That is a resonator. It is not used on police cars. U can plug it off, but make sure whatever u use does not get sucked into the engine.
