holy crap! I have never heard of such a thing. I've seen entire axles come out but never break like that.

The only time I've seem an axle break like that is after the wheel has bumped a curb or something pretty hard. It'll tweak the axle and after awhile, It'll break under the strain. I've seen race cars break axles under all conditions, but this certainly isn't the case here.

COME ON -NOBODY HAS BROKEN A AXLE IN THIS MANNER? MAYBE I SHOULDN'T REBUILD THE CAR{BODY SWAP},BUT WE WANTED TO SAVE SOME OF HER LOST INVESTMENT. PLUS I ALREADY BOUGHT THE DONOR CAR.

The only car I ever had break an axle using street tires was a Studebaker Golden Hawk. Broke them on a regular basisis by just stomping on the gas in first gear. Seriously, if you are concerned about breakage, get a set of chrome moly racing axles and rest easy.

Civics will blow axles if they break the 300hp mark, all the turbo runners buy aftermarket axles like Z28Pete suggested. That'd prolly fix the problem...

i was thinking pull axle from donor car and check for cracks at machine shop, but alloy might be a good idea
