CamarokidGB 10-30-2005, 02:00 PM Hey i have a 2002 Camaro with a 5spd i was wondering if there is anywhere in the firewall to run a power wire for an amp without having to drill a hole and if there isnt where is the best place to drill a hole Thanks for your help G-MAN
Shifty_Powers 10-30-2005, 06:02 PM i will be getting an 88 camaro this week... itl be geraged all winter with the first project being redo the interior... ive got most of the other stuff down.
Now it doesnt have a head unit in it, and i dont know about the speakers.. I have a panasonic head unit that im using now that i want to put in.. and ide obviously like some decent speakers to go with, i dont know about subs, but some type of good speakers that have a nice high to low range.... and can fit in my car....
wondering... is there going to need to be a lot of fabrication to be done to put newer speakers in it? and which ones might you recommend.. i am 18 and will be on a tight budget here..... sooo best speakers for price will help me out.... my headunit puts out 4x50w or so...
hope you can help me.. thank you...
Hisss04Cobra 11-01-2005, 01:17 PM Go with memphis, or if you can scrap up the money then go with jl. Get some 6 x 9's and your set. I used to be all into the car audio scene, then I got tired of it. In fact i'll sell you some subs if you want! :D

drill on which ever side the battery is located. drill the hole so its not visible inside the car (mines where my carpet covers it up).
dont struggle to find or squeeze a place, just drill a nice neat hole

yea but i need to see what size fit my car.. yea i know JL are good... other then that i like kicker(subs).... u got some subs u can sell? amp? blah blah? how much? what ? and i dunno what else to ask
Hisss04Cobra 11-02-2005, 03:50 AM 2 15' Memphis HPO's haven't been played much. 2 12' Memphis HPO's have been played a good bit. 2 memphis 1100 watt class d amps. The 2 15's togethor in a box cost about 700, the amps a piece are 550 = 1100 and the 2 12's new and the box cost me 550. That's like 2350. I'd sell it all to you, plus shipping, for 400... It all works, i'm just soooo tired of bass. Oh yeah, i'd give you all of my wire. I'm running 0 guage from the battery all the way to the back. Which reminds me I also have a batcap and a supercar which I would give you too.
Shifty_Powers 11-02-2005, 08:56 AM guessing 0 guage is good? ands batcap and supercar?????? ude seriously sell me all of this??????? i wouldnt know what to do with it... ide prob sell some of it to my friends.... maybe keep the 12;s or 15's which would u recomend to keep...
yea sometimes bass can get annooying if not done right.... but those with some good speakers in it... would prob be really nice... so let me know if ur up for it..... ill see what i can do....
where are u located?
would i be able to work one of the boxes with only one sub? let me knnow senior
Hisss04Cobra 11-02-2005, 05:18 PM supercap* Bat caps and super caps are like extra abtteries that help to power the amps. If you ask anyone that knows anything about car audio that's an amazing deal i'm giving. I'm just sick of it being back there. The boxes are single boxes with 2 holes cut in them from the factory I guess. When I bought the 15's and the 12's from the local retailer the 15's came in one box with 2 15' holes in it and the 12's in one box with 2 12' holes in them. I live close to birmingham alabama. My set up is very very nice. It sounds extremely loud with what all I have. I have the pioneer avic-n1 headunit which is great for bass control. And I have my roof dynamated. No...But you could order a 1 12' or 1 15' box from one of buddies in kentucky for like 15-25$
Shifty_Powers 11-02-2005, 07:22 PM sorry didnt mean with one sub... meant only one amp.... does the amp have enough watts for it? So i would get the subs too? I just hope either would fit in my camaro..... im looking now to get the money.....
how in the hell would we do it... and ?...not to be gay... but how would i know ur not sending me crap or getting ripped off?
Hisss04Cobra 11-02-2005, 09:23 PM Where do you live. Maybe somehow I could bring my car for you to listen to it. If not maybe I could go get a spl reader and video tape it in my car. How high the decibles go.
Hisss04Cobra 11-02-2005, 09:24 PM You could run the 15's with one amp, and the 12's with one amp. I have both amps turned really far down, and it is really loud and really deep. If that tells you anything.
Have you asked anyone about the subs or amps, or the wire.
Shifty_Powers 11-02-2005, 11:42 PM i live in new jersey.. ur in alabama..... dunno howd we do it... but we could...
Hisss04Cobra 11-03-2005, 12:41 AM Maybe I could video tape my subs on a decibel meter and put it on the internet somehow.

well figure out a safe way man... i need my car first lol...
Hisss04Cobra 11-03-2005, 06:40 PM I actually just blew a 15' letting someone hear it a minute ago. Woohoo now my warranty covers a brand new 15'!!! If you bought they 15's i'd send one in an old box and one unopened in the new one...If that would help...
Shifty_Powers 11-03-2005, 08:39 PM not to sure if the 15's would fit in a camaro man.... 12s might...... but 400 for it all?
how would we do this anyways? once i get my car
Hisss04Cobra 11-03-2005, 10:04 PM Either shipping or meet somewhere...do like you visit your grandparents anywhere near alabama during christmas or anything?
85Camarodude 11-04-2005, 04:25 PM i got 2 10's in my 85. the subs u want would fit, u might have to make a different box though, or u could put them in ur back seat as is depending on the shape.
there is a gap in the back of the car, i used it for a place to put my t-tops. its perfect to make a subs box into. my box isnt the biggest but my hatch glass makes my subs hit really hard. u can make the box bigger ofcourse but yeah whatever u got to throw in ur camaro im sure u could make it fit
here's what my setup looks like. i dont have my amp mounted in the picture...just finished the box, didnt feel like workin on it anymore that day. my amp is digital incase ur wondering why its so small
everything after the first picture are other peoples cars from cardomain, just to give u some ideas
84z50HO 01-11-2006, 10:02 PM hey bclewis, as far as you not wanting to cut the dash up in your 69, you have several options.1 good ol shaft radio.2 metra and ami makes an universal drop box kit that can be used.3 go custom and creative.Example center consoule, glove box etc.4 run the shaft up front and you can always go with a rf modulated cd changer.Im not to sure if the shafts have changer controls.Ive been in this field for 15 years and am really surprised that pioneer and kenwood still have the same shafts(well different internal amps) plus some cosmetic changes.IF you need anything else or anyone for that matter, feel free to ask.
Mpit52 03-16-2006, 01:38 AM hey guys, i got a 89 camaro, and i wanted to put some subs in the back. i no theres not alot of room in the trunk, so i was thinking about just building like the top of a box and placeing it in that "trunk space". basically creating a complete box...is there any special way that i would have to build this box. like does it matter wat kind of sub's im goin to be putting in there.....cause i heard that Box designs r importante...
84z50HO 04-10-2006, 12:10 AM Depends on how much air space your subs required.Yes box specs are Very important. If you are just wanting to throw a piece of wood down over the hole back there, then i would go with free air subs.If not, then you would need some fiberglass, polly fill and liquid nails or silicone to seal the seams. What type and size subs are you wanting to use?I have an 84 and i measured and had a little over a cubic foot of air space there without removing the carpet etc.Other option is to reverse mount the subs.
solidicex 04-27-2006, 05:28 PM i was wondering if anyone has blueprints for a sub enclosure that would fit in a 94 camaro z28, for two 12" subs or two 12" s and two 10"s
80z/28 08-07-2006, 12:48 AM I have a 1980 camaro z/28 how do I go about putting two 10 inch subs in the trunk and keeping it clean I dont want a big bulky box taking up my whole trunk could someone tell me where i can go and get custom boxes make or a web site that i can go to the check out thanks 80z/28
02renegade 08-17-2006, 07:39 PM 80z/28,
Fitting two tens in the trunk is not a big deal, but the trunk is small to begin with so it doesnt take much to lose most of the trunk space, if you dont want one big box you can get two single boxes that are a little more flexible as far as moving them around in the trunk. I have 4 8's in my '78 but then again I took up my whole trunk just for audio gear.
