well, its not worth that much, you could get an LS1 SS for about that price with around the same mileage, sounds like they're trying to pull a premium, or dont want to sell it
(ie. wife says i gotta get rid of it, but i dont want to,well ill just jack up the price here...)

Well that might be an OK price depending on where you are. Around Chicago a 50k miles 01-02 LS1 will still bring $14-17k depending on a few varibles. Keep in mind tha KBB does not take into account the low production value of a 96/97 SS, there are actually more rare than an LS1 SS. In the end the car is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. As for the 3 rd gen idea. I think it's cool but a big project, a running car is always more fun and can be upgraded a little at a time, where as a project might take a few years to get finished if at all.

yea, you want to make sure you have a good running car for everyday purposes if you intend to heavily mod your maro, take your time man, save up and get what you want, you will be happier doing it that way.
