i'm hearing a "groaning" noise from the rear of my 98, especially when i back out of the driveway (slight drop-off at the end) . not squeaking, lower pitched. had bushings on sway bar replaced by dealer, still does it. anyone else heard same?

Did you have the brakes checked (dragging caliper, no biggie) and the shocks? Could be a lot of other things though. If it only does it then and no other time I'd just watch it and do nothing.

Prob trans or rear end related man, suspension wont usually groan

replaced rotors and pads, noise is 90% gone. think new shocks will help with the rest.

Control arm bushings or sway bar bushings. they will groan when they get old and dried out. Mine did.

well could be the emerg brake. Or could be the back brakes that need changing. Rear brakes have lil metal things that let u know that the rear brakes are needed to be changeed.
