Can you fit 20 inch wheels on a 68 with stock suspension? Has anyone done it? If so, what was the wheel/tire size and backspacing?

Blade 03-17-2007, 09:17 AM pretty sure u cant do it. It will hit the fender wells. too wide for the drive thur!!!!! cplthomas 03-17-2007, 10:53 AM Could you post a pic of what you have in mind? I am sure they will be too big. IMHO big rims like that have no buisness being on classic's. Just my opinion, it might look good, thats why I want to see a pic. skar 03-17-2007, 06:52 PM That to me would look like crap. To each to their own. 17" max for me. tmac1granger33 03-18-2007, 04:47 PM 68 and 69 camaros look sick with 20s! Saint_Ali 03-18-2007, 10:33 PM i agree with skar, i would feel sick if i saw a 68 or a 69 with 20" wheels, thats one reason i wont buy the new camaro bansheetah 03-21-2007, 01:05 AM This is the look I'm trying to achieve. Tell me it doesn't look good. local://upfiles/7102/9789F3A64F8849BDBC723B922D36D6DD.jpg local://upfiles/7102/1288B33F42D9401FB61F4D607D7B8495.jpg cplthomas 03-21-2007, 01:07 AM It looks ookaaayyy. Doesn't look fast. Classics should look fast. I don't care too much for trailer queens. Just my opinion. 74454bb 03-21-2007, 01:22 AM OK, It doesn't look good, didn't in the first pic,and not the second. but they do look good with 18's if they keep the classic muscle look like some of the foose & Boyd wheels. badinfluenceRS 03-21-2007, 02:48 AM torque thrusts would look better (i think thats what there called) in 17" or 18" skar 03-21-2007, 05:57 PM I Don't like! I have torque thrusts II 17" If I had to do it all over I would stick wit 15" or 16' with raised white lettering. TSTONE 03-22-2007, 10:27 AM I like the way your rims & tires lookSkar - i'm thinking of that look for mine. Blade 03-22-2007, 01:40 PM UR RIGHT THEY LOOK HORRIBLE. Ghetto would be the proper wording. skar 03-22-2007, 02:17 PM ORIGINAL: TSTONE I like the way your rims & tires lookSkar - i'm thinking of that look for mine. I will have to lower the front end a inch or so. To big of a gap . And should havewent with a 9" rim on back with one size bigger tire . ( I have 255 35 17 I thinkon back would like to go with 275 40 17) 7 " rims on front 8 " on rear now. TSTONE 03-22-2007, 02:41 PM so you put those on? i thought they came with it. how much did you spend? Saint_Ali 03-22-2007, 04:47 PM those rims would look better if they were 16 or 17 inch, 20 inch rims look stupid on a camaro or any muscle car, thats what happens when you watch those ram music videos skar 03-22-2007, 06:40 PM ORIGINAL: TSTONE so you put those on? i thought they came with it. how much did you spend? $1560 out the door at discount tire. Car came with 14" bias ply. To me tires and rims are what make or brake on how cool the car looks. Talk to Jerry at the commerce discount tire. I may sell my rears and go to the 275 40 17 some day. To much other stuff to do right now.
