Default Exhaust question (x-pipe), Please read!

Hello everyone. I have a 1996 6 speed z28 camaro that is bone stock. I am now looking to upgrading the car to breathe better. I currently am looking to buying a set of pacesetter ceramic coated long tube headers. Now my question is, since I want to purchase an x-pipe do I have to dump them at the axle? Or can I have a cat back system attached to the x-pipe so it can shoot out to the back. I do not want to dump it before the axle, I would like to have them shoot out the back and have exhaust tips. Is this possible? If anyone has photos to share, that would be great aswell. Thanks for the help to anyone who responds to this forum.

If you buy a complete cat-back system it will either exit out the back or behind the rear wheels.

Also, any muffler shop would be able to quickly make a system and have it exit anyplace your heart desires.

Thanks for the advice! Yea I was hoping an exhaust shop can make it shoot out the back instead of it being dumped behind the wheels. Sounds great and all but, I personally don't like it being dumped .Thanks again!

depending on your state 96 may fall exsempt from, emissions ,you realy want it to breath ,is long tubes an true duals,on my engeine swap I have video of what it looks like an how it sounds ,headers help tips help but stock cats an mufflers hold back so much HP an don't allow the engine to breath,so you realy get sound out of cat back more then air ,when we took my cat off an looked like a big chunk of charcoal in there you could not even think about seeing though it ,big time restriction + 2 into 0ne back to 2 starves it to,so guys that don't need to ,my true duals costed 250.00 for the headers 2 flow pro mufflers single chamber 59.00 a set ,2 10 ft runs of 2,5inch pipe $45.00 then the cost to install ,some of those cat back systems can cost alot ,so why not go with what every car wants ,unless your state does not allow it ,there are ways to do true dual an keep the cat to ,mine is one step short of full bore ,wich is you can see light with mine ,full bore you see straight through ,an on a good night see fire comeing out of the pipes, thats my thoughts,so for about 700.00 800.00 ,if you do it yourself ,just the cost about $350.00 for parts
