Default NUG with a question

Good day all;

I am new to this forum, and I have a problem with my car.

I have a 1984 Camaro, and the steering column is sloppy. It does not (yet) seem to affect the actual steering, but it is unsettling to have the whole column move as you try to drive. It moves in all directions about one, to two inches. I was told there is a pin somewhere in the column that prevents this, and that mine may be broken, however, before I start tearing it all apart, I thought I would get some input/advice from folks more knowledgeable about Camaro's than am I.

Can anyone give me a clue as to what might be the problem, or do you all need more info? If so, what more do you need to know?

Thanks

Horse

Isn't there anyone on here who has dealt with, or is familiar with this problem?

there are three bolts down inside the column that are loose, you have to disassemble the top half of the column to tighten them, the pins you are asking about is what you have to remove to get to those bolts
