'80' V6 timing

RE: '80' V6 timing
Hey, welcome to the forums. Do you have a chiltons manual? How mechanically inclined are you.Why do you think the timing needs to be adjusted? Basicaly you adjust the timing by lossening the dizzy and turning it while looking at a timing mark on the fly wheel as it is illuminated by a timing gun. Chiltons should have a figure in there that gives the exact location on the fly wheel your light shoud hit IE.. 10 degrees BTDC. Thats adjusting the timing in a nut shell. If you are doing a tune up, you may not need to set the timing. What are the symptoms? The car needs to be running to set the timing, or at the very least have power to the ignition to set it statically.
