LFX 4 valves per cylinder details
Have searched and cannot find - on my 2012 Camaro 2LT with the LFX engine (V6, 323 hp), there are 4 valves per cylinder.
Is it just my imagination or does something different happen around 3,000 rpm? The sound and torque seem to change quite suddenly ("louder" and "more").
On other 4 valve-per-cylinder cars I have owned, the 2nd set of valves doesn't open until the throttle is opened or rpms are high, etc. I can't find any documentation about that on this engine.
Anyone know?
Thank you.
Charles
P.S. Really nice engine. I've heard the sound criticized, but it's perfect to my ears. More power would always be nice but for a daily-use Summer vehicle on public roads, this has plenty. And it's cheaper to buy.
