What do you guys think of the ZL1's new competitor?
I like the zl1 better
Ford always trying to beat chevy, but always fails. Sure it looks good on paper, but in the long run the ZL1 will outlast and out perform.
my favorite piece was right here: "The 5.8-liter V8 aluminum-block engine produces 650 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. of torque ... The 3,850-pound car also stays exempt from the gas-guzzler tax." Anything with that much power and such will be a gas guzzler. So them saying it will not be a guzzler is a downright lie beyond lie. The only way it wouldn't be a guzzler is if it was a hybrid or pure electric. But if thats a hybrid then damn! Steroids out the ***! Liek I said, it looks good on paper.. but theres something wrong aside from a overly high price tag. |
There is a lot of different tech they can put in to avoid gas guzzler tax such as skip shift and the like, im guessing performance modes myself

I think had the Camaro not made its reappearance then the Mustangs would still have around 300 HP at the crank.

And the muscle car wars have begun again! If only we didn't have all the stupid emissions stuff. Imagine the power the Camaro, Challenger, and Mustangs could be producing!
Emissions stuff? I've seen a few egr's just plain fall off...;)
^ Let me rephrase that. Imagine no emission restrictions imposed on all cars to meet federal regulations.
I don't really think there is any comparison. I am a huge fan of Mustangs but this seems like a sorry waste of time compared to the new Camaro. There is nothing THAT phenomenal about it or special seeing as how the BOSS made its return and that should have been enough. Ford should step aside and let Chevy take it next year, see what happens, and create better competition.
