Two things about the Fisker Karma: it’s absolutely gorgeous and it’s a shame that it’s a plug-in hybrid. Well, former GM VP of Product Bob Lutz wanted to do something about the latter. After retiring from GM, Lutz (aka Maximum Bob) teamed up with a partner to form VL Automotive, and one of its first tasks was to convert the Karma into something a little more bad ***. The plan was simple: remove the Karma’s four-cylinder engine and the rest of its hybrid system, and drop in a 6.2-liter supercharged LS9 V8. Yes, the same V8 that powers the ZL1.
