If that fails, you could try a wheel refinisher if you have any local. I had my old polished alum wheels fixed, curbed two of them, and then they polished them up for me, was like 100 bucks for fixing the two wheels and polishing four. Same place did rechroming, powdercoating/painting. Just a thought in case it doesn't come out.

 

orocker, since that purple stuff is corrosive to aluminum, it may have left some pits. To save some elbow grease, you can clean the bare aluminum with steel wool, or wet sand it using 1000-1500 grit. Then the aluminum polish will shine it back up. Only problem is, now you'll have to polish the whole wheel to match.

 

Thanks for the suggestions. It doesnt seem to have any pits on the spot, just seems to be a bit "corroded" so to speak. I have a friend down in sarasota who polishes rims and can probably fix the problem. I feel like a retard for doing something like this but if this is the worst thing to happen to me thru this whole process I am doing pretty good.
