Wheel offset is the difference between the center of the wheel and the mounting surface. Positive offset is when the mounting surface is closer to the outside of the wheel; negative offset is when the mounting surface is closer to the inside of the wheel. Negative offset will push the wheel outwards.

wheel offset measurement is important because an improper offset could lead to contact between the wheels and will affect the chevy performance parts of your car. calculate the wheel backspace to determine whether it is positive or negative offset. positive offset if the center line is less than your backspace and negative offset if the center line is greater than your backspace.
