No its not, my dad painted his '79 malibu sapphire blue from a 95 mustang, which is more like a purple. He tends to use Ford colors on his GM's all the time, he thinks GM colors suck. I personally painted my 89 Cavalier the sonic blue metallic from the 2005 and up mustangs.
