Gears, intake, and performance chip vaults the LT1 over the LS1? Man, I'm gonna sell mine.

yes it is possible for a lt1 to have a time of 13.5, but what mods did you have to do to acheive that, ls1s do it stock, and was that 13.5 a one time thing or do you run that often

The LT-1 is a cheaper build than an LS-1 if You're going to Modify the engine. Both respond to mods extremely well. I've built a number of LT-1's for $3 grand or so ( 383 Version with ported heads and cam ) that run well into the 11's on sticky street tires. You could spend about the same on a LS-1 but keep the stock bore / stroke combination and run similar numbers. If You stroke the LS-1, You'll spend more but it'll fly. I've done a 388 inch LS-1 that runs 10.60's in sticky street tires, haven'y tried real slicks yet ( rear end issues ) but mph is 126 -127 so it's not hooking up too bad. The LS-1 will make more power with similar mods but costs more.

By shopping wisely I was able to rebuild my LS1 (stock bottom end, but new rings, bearings, added main studs, rod bolts and head studs) for $2500 with a cam swap. That price includes the block I had to buy because my old one was cracked. The key is knowing what parts to buy and keeping an eye out for deals (like ebay or for sections of web forums). The car runs in the 11's.

if you launch right a 3000-3800 stall converter can suprize the **** out of most people. "buddy picked up .5 sec on quarter with a 3200 stall and a shift kit on his auto" just food for thought
