do i need to worry about this. theres one in my neighborhood and hes tried to race me 3 times. it sounds like its modded. once we were side by side at a light and he was revving and i gave him one 3000rpm rev and he floored it when light changed so i did too only to like 40 which was the speed limit but i left him. anyways was wondering if i need to worry about him or can i slaughter him.

Yeah do not worry about that thing at all. If he is modded all he has is most likely the CAI and exhaust for it. If you hear a little different noise from under the hood its probably an external wastegate. Don't waste your time on him it isn't worth the gas you would burn unless you race him for money.

The newer GTis would take a 3.8 pretty easily. Car & driver got a 0-60 of 6.2 and 1/4 mile of 14.5 @ 95mph for the brand new GTi. But if it is an older GTi you would have a pretty even race in which the driver would decied the winner. And you should be able to beat any of the base golfs or the GTs
