Neither in the Camaro.
1) I had a brief run in with a reall good looking Mitsi 3000 GT (turbo) on the highway, from about 40. I wasn't surprised my Aston won (I would have died if it hadn't, Jeez) but I was surprised by the way it just walked away from the Mitsi. Generally I credit a turbo setup with 50% more displacement so he had the equivalent of about 4.5 liters compared to my car's 4.3, and I expected the race to be close.
2) I was in the Lincoln MKZ and lined up at a light next to a new Cadillac CTS driven by a young Mom who wanted a race, I could tell. We went for it on green: the Caddy put half a length on the Lincoln right off the line and I thought it was over, but then the Lincoln graduallyedged back andput about two lengths on the Caddie by 60. Later I saw this car in a parking lot and saw it had the direct injection (306 HP) V6 badge on the rear. I drove one of those before buying the Lincoln and thought it was a lot slower than the claimed 60 in 5.9 seconds. I don't know my car's performance: car mags list it at 6.9 sec to 60, but that is for the heavier (and more drivetrain losses) four wheel drive version. Anyway, the Lincoln has turned out to be a surprisingly good car.

It is the V8 model, essentially a DB9 without the back seat, 13 inches in length, and 200 lbs ofweight, with a 7700 RPM V8 instead of a 6500 RPM V12. Most people prefer the look of the shorter Vantage to the DB9, me included (I think it is the most beautiful car currently made in the world). It has identical all leather interior (except no back seats), same suspension, and is hand-build like all Astons. Same brakes as the DB9, but slightly smaller than those on the DBS. Mine has a factory-sponsor engine upgrade to 441 HP,road race gears, slightly upgraded brakes, and some extra lightweight goodies that raised list price to about what a DB9 cost, and a three-year warranty that covers track day and club racing. It is very smooth, more solidly built than my Porsche (that says alot), and handles more linearly than the Porsche did. It sounds about like a 'vette until it gets to about 7000 RPM when it sounds sort of like a Ferrari. Unlike the Porsche and my vette, it feels much slower than it is going, so it is hard to avoid trouble (so far I have. Relatively slow off the line and to 30 mph (those close ratio road race gears mean it does the quarter in about 13.0, but hell on wheels once it gets going, with a gear for every corner exit speed.

RE: Two recent contests
I have an album on the Corvette forum. There is pic of my Aston in it.
