For the a small 4cylinder car, from my knowledge in civics 50 is the max or you will end up messing your stock internals up. Those 4bangers no way made for nitrous unless it has built internals
maybe for a civic, but there's stock besides intake/exhaust ecotec guys running 100 and 125 shots.. and ruining clutches/trannies.. not engines. some IRL guys running a stage 3 pulley and 150shot. breakign them loose going into 4th. and i have to agree with spec, it's internal strength.. not compression, although the 2.2 and 2.4 ecotec is a low comp motor, the 2.0 IRL is a high comp motor.

Well the ecotec engines in the IONs have a little bigger displacement so i guess thats why you guys can take a higher shot.

Also I don't really know how strong the internals for an ecotec engine. The internals in a civic are really not that strong.

Displacement doesnt have that much to do with it. especially seing how we were talking about the "big block" vtecs.. H22 and what not. H22 is a 2.2.

and the stock weak point on the 2.2 ecotec is the rods @ about 300 horse. the pistons will handle about 400, the crank will handle about 800. as for the 2.0, it's fully built to handle i think 600 or so stock. i have no clue about the 2.4. but 2.4 and 2.2 have same crank. 2.4 is a bigger bored engine that the 2.2. the 2.0 is a destroked 2.2.... 2.4 + boost = fail. well, any bigger than 12PSI or so.

The old 2.2 iron blocks are tanks. And as you said love boost. The block and insides can support 300 ground horse power not bad for a engine that makes 135 at the crank stock.

The forum is acting up.

I dont see any one runing 800 horses on a stock eco tech crank. Thats higher then a 2JZ or a RB26.

Race him from a dig where traction is your friend. You have over 60 horses and 140 torque and thats if he has the higher end type S.

If your runing a number 16 plus PSI and a 150 shot your breaking a lot more. The the 2.0 IRL is not that high. The NA 2.4 is higher.
