Any older 3.8 mustang would have to bring a lot of heat to take on a LS1. Even with full bold ons and nitrous you would not be a match for the LS1. Some of the turbo kits that are out there due give fair power gains. But are you willing to spend 4500 bucks on a kit and about1000 more for supporting mods and tuningthat willonly allow you to run with stock F-bodys is the question.

a stock 2.0 SC / Turbo is set up for top speed better than a stock LS1 f-body is. especially the comp packages.

but a LS1 will get there much quicker, stay there better, and go faster, after suspension and what not is upgraded.

people replace internals at 300 because thats the weak point.. and once youve started doing that, might as well do it all at once. but theres a couple guys running 500 and 600 HP off the stock crank.

You mean the 2.0 SC at its top speed is better than the LS1 at its top speed, right?

WS6/SSwill out handle a cobalt at high speeds and can not only smoke it in top MPH but can hold it a lot longer. The cobalt stops pulling hard after about 115-120MPH LS1 pulls to about 140-150 MPH and then some.

im not talking about that.

i am talking about a cobalt or R32, or even SRT4 is BUILT better for top speed. MEANING. much better suspension to take the high speed bumps. Much better brakes to stop quicker. ETC. It is Equipped to go faster. Doesnt mean it will go faster.
