Raced a friend from mine we are both in high school. He talks up his 1998 Honda Prelude ALL THE TIME!! It has a cat back exhaust, intake short throw shifter and 1600cc fuel injectors. Its a DOHC vtec h-22 5 speed. I have a 1991 Z28 305 TPI, auto with k&n air filters and flowmaster 80 series exhaust. We meet up in town from about a 15-20 mph roll and took off. I heard him downshift and I floored it, right from the start I had him his nose was up near my pass side door... then we hit around 65 ish and his nose was near my rear quater panel. We had to slow down there b/c of some traffic up ahead. He told me his oil needs changed and if he would of shifted into 3rd I would of been done, lol alright whatever, just throwin it down!

I just realized, that is almost exactly what my 1973 superbeetle has. Cat back - modern 'monza' exhaust. got it. Short throw shifter - got one too. 1600cc FI - Its a 1600cc (bored to 1620) with two carbs - got it. I wonder........4 speed.

 

not to put you down. good kill. i had a 98 prelude with full greddy exhaust cai by k&n home made. and i was taking out the pontiac gta transam the iroz z and 5.0 mustangs. i also took a fourth gen camaro v6. i've always been a chevy guy and will always be. but when you parents chose your car you have no other choice.

and its true what your friend said if he would of caught third gear he wouldof pulled. so if you get a chance do it again on a longer strip of road and let us knows what happens.

 

There is no way that the Honda would have won if he had shifted into 3rd. Change your oil to go faster? Come on man lol. Good kill dude.

hey andross you ever been inside one of those lil hondas. you would be surprised. and secondly so what if i drove or drive a honda my main and project car is a chevy. next time you go to a track line up against a lil hatch back civic with a b-16 or b-18 engine lets see youtalk then.

 

Lol. Yea I have been in a honda and im not denying the fact that they can move... although its a steriotypical thing when someone who drives a honda looses to another car to give an excuse that he lost because he needed to change his oil or because he "Missed a gear" I've heard them all brother.

 

my mother inlaw drives one of those honda v tech craps, I may have to line up with her and see what it can do, of course I'll have to be far off to the side of her cuz I wouldn't want my exhaust to blow her car over when I mash the gas.
