Default Raced a 'vette

Well, here's the story- I was to follow my mom's Jeep Compass to our storage unit- this involves a short ride down a two-lane street followed by a run on a stretch of freeway.

So as soon as I'm turning into the lane, I notice a bright yellow C6 Corvette pulling out behind me. The 'vette keeps pace right behind me, even up to 100km/h (40 over the limit on that road)

Shortly we pull up to the freeway on-ramp and I signal to turn- the 'vette follows right behind me. As I merge onto the freeway, I quickly change lanes to the left lane- beside my mom's Compass. The 'vette's right behind me. As soon as I'm clear, I change back into the right lane and hit the gas.

As I make it up to 160 km/h (100 mph), the 'vette flies by me at about 180. I spend about 30 seconds trying to catch up but uhh, it doesn't happen :P

So the result was exactly as I expected but it was loads of fun. :P

Edmonton, Alberta.

And yeah, I'd have been amazed if I won :v The guy would have to have been one hell of a crappy driver~

I also happened to spot a green '70 Plymouth Barracuda yesterday, and a red '67-68 Camaro. Didn't get a chance to race them but it was pretty sweet to see some classic American Muscle on the roads

It was actually a C5 'vette that I raced yesterday. Saw it again today and realized my mistake.

My mom lives in Calgary. If I'm ever in the area for a visit shall I let you know? :3

...You thought a stock '87 IROC-Z would ever have a chance of beating a C5 Corvette? :P Even the weakest '97-'04 Corvette engine makes 130 hp more than my LB9.

Ah well. And yes, km/h. Get with the times~

Edit: carguy_z28- will do. I can't see it happening any time soon with gas prices being the way they are, not to mention funky randomized work schedules [>:] But I will let you know if I do make a trip down there~
