so im driving home from work tonight and im sitting at a stop light all by myslef. out of nowhere comes this ungodly huge truck that sounds mean as hell. it was a chevy 3500. the guy starts talkin to me and asks me if i wanna run em. so i say "hell yeah!" he starts listing off stuff that hes done to the beast like a supercharger and headers and all. he says that he has 1000 hp and 950 ft lbs of torque. im sitting there thinkin that im gonna get utterly destroyed. it sounded sooo mean. so the light turns green and were off.. his engine roars and my little LS1 sounded like a remote controlled car compared to it. i was surprised to see his headlights in my rear view mirror.. and in fact i was the one destroying him.
we raced 5 times and i won all 5 times. his truck had a ton of power but he also mentioned that it weighed about 10,000 lbs. so i dunno if its much to boast about but i like the fact that i beat a 1000 hp vehicle. hehe
it was a badass truck all around and he was cool too.

Last time I was at the strip there was a bunch of trucks out there. Older Chevy's (90's) Newer Dodges (a couple of HEMI's, 1 Cummins turbo, and a ton of Dakota's, and an SRT-10), along with a couple of Powerstrokes. The fastest out there was an older Chevy with a blown big block. He was running consistant 11.1-11.2. Next fastest was the older 7.3 Powerstroke that was in the low 13's. The SRT-10 was suprisingly not as fast as I thought it should have been. I kept up with him in my stock 'stang. He only ran like a 13.8 when I ran a 14.3.
