RE: mazda miata....killed...
If it was a older 1.6 and was bolted it may make around 110 to the ground in the same a older 1.8 will produce around 120 or so horses at the wheel. However the factory turboMazda speed miata (made for a shorttime)wasnot a bad car yourlooking at around 150 to the ground stock. Also aftermarket turbo miatas will produce around 150-180 horses with just the turbo, Intercooler, and some light tuning and thats at the wheels. And the newer NA is also a bad little car for what it is and will even give the 3.0 Z4 a good run. One thing you have too think about is the size of the car. He probaly has you by 300 or so pounds if he is newer or it could be more if its like a early 90s modle. There are a lot of miata options and a huge aftermarket. Turbo kits, SC, ITB's, V8 swaps. Its all been done. They are also the #1 selling car of all time. As to date more miata's have been sold then any other car in history.

Anyone ever see the Monster Miatas? Miata + LS1 = Ridiculous. But yes, because they are so Light, you can slam on bunch of bolt ons and they can be decently fast. Plus you never know what the other guy might have done to their motor or setup.
