CTS-V vs. 1990 Camaro with mods

how do you guys think i would do against a CTS-V with my Camaro, once it's done with the motor and trans swap that is.

i know my motor is making 355 hp and 401 ft-lbs of torque, it's going to be mated to a 4L60E out through a 3.23 posi rear-end (i want to keep good gas milage and top end speed)

heads up who would win?

would be a good race. at 3800 lbs 400hp 395torque the cts is fast stock. that torque maxes @ around 4k rpm's too so he'd be using all of it. If stock I think he'd have to keep the traction control on to even hook up though which would slow him quite a bit. I have no clue what the redline is on those but the hp maxes @ over 6k rpm so that doesn't seem too usable. Have to say you'd win if tuned but diff story if he was tuned for the 1/4.

even with the 3.23 rear end?? i figured i would need at least a 3.42 or better to keep up

yeah the cts has 3.73 rear. Tuning still would have a lot to do with it though. on a side note would the mpg be affected that much if you went with the lower ratio? seems like it wouldn't be much more than about 1-2 mpg. Most of it would depend on how you drove it.

yeah, good race, but def go lower in gear, maybe 3.55 or 3,73 would not kill ya

well, that's the thing. my ultimate goal is to get this thing to the Nurburgring where the straights are long enough that if i had the 3.23, i wouldn't have to worry about going to high of revs. this car isn't going to be set up for drag racing

yeah, but i still say 3.55 is a damn good gear for that car, itll rev high and still get mileage, and have very good top end
