i have a 95 z28 camaro with a automatic. everything is pretty much stock except for the cold air intake and shift kit on the trans. my friend has a 1991 mitsubishi 3000Gt a stick shift. i think his car is pretty much stock. he braggs all the time saying he smoke a mustang gt, caprices, mazda rx8, and the list goes on. know he saying that he will smoke my camaro. he say he have the advantage because he has a stick shift. i wanted to from any body from this forum do yuo think it possible for his v6 3000GT can beat my lT1 v8 z28 camaro. any thoughts on who will win?

 

IS it a VR4? If not you absolutly destroy him.

hey man wether its a manual or not there is no way he could smoke you i have an 96 z28 auto and i have eaten evo's and sti's i have had some work done but his stock 3000 against your z28 cmon he might get you off the line but hey man let me know how it turns out

if his car is a twin turbo, youll have your hands full...

 

If it is twin turbo, and if you are stock....you will not win.

Your average TT 3000gt will run a 13.6-13.8 bone stock, and trap somewhere around 102-104.

 

If I were you I would invest in some good drag radials, like Hoosier Drag Radials 275/60/15's with rims. You might get him if he's not running much boost. It depends on how good a driver he is as well.

well we finally got a chance to race from light to light. oh yeah he drives a coupe 3000gt, not the twin turbo. anyway we both was at the light. he was reving his engine up at me. so i gave in an rev back. the light turned green an we took off i got ahead of him by four cars , by just pressing the gas pedal halfway to the floor. so i floor it an left him by seven cars before i realized i was doing 95 in 45mph zone an slowed down eventually he caught after i slowed down. i dont normally drive like that on street maybe the hwy. he dont have anything to say to me but i was catching up with you. i will let think that. the funny thing is that after i raced him. the very next day i ran into this guy driving a dodge stealth it looked just like the 3000gt. but this car had twin turbo on the side of the car. just curious is this the same car as the 3000gt. i didnt get a chance to see who car is the fastest to much traffic was around.

 

The stealth and the 3000gt are the exact same. Just diffent body parts and it didnt come with a couple things the 3000gt did (like the active aero spoiler only on the twin turbo version) the stealth rt/tt is just about the same as the 3000gt vr4 and some of the na stealths are the same as the na 3000gts. from 97-99 all base 3000gts came with the sohc motor with like 180hp while the sl had about 225hp. Every year base model stealth has the sohc motor which has no power. When i had my 97 base 3000gt i race my friends 94 z28 and he handed me my ***. It looked like i wasnt even racing, but once i got my vr4 i put a couple cars on him. Now after i went a lot bigger turbos and he supercharged his we will go at it agian real soon.

 

You should kick its butt. I did when I first got my car and it was stock LT1 94 camaro.
