91 Camaro RS vs 86 Monte Carlo SS

Ok, so I was cruising down the river road, a 4 lane highway along the Mississippi, at about 70 and I pass this guy in a black Monte Carlo SS going around 65. I was with my girlfriend and I had absolutely no intention of racing this total ******bag due to the fact that his rims were the size of my kitchen table and his windows were blacked out so I couldnt see him for the bro he truly was. Point is.. the second I passed him he gunned it. I was stunned. Although it was a beautiful day and that road is racing heaven I did not see it coming so he got about 2 cars ahead before my girlfriend started yelling for me to "Get him!". She got a kick out of it for some reason. Of course I quickly gave chase. I drive a completely stock Brilliant Red 91 RS 305 TBI with 65k or so miles on it, no mods or fixes whatsoever (even stock paint). Anyway, I end up catching him easy and I start to overtake him. At this point Im pushing it to 105 and Im about 3/4s of a car in front of him when my governer kicks in at 110 and hes gone. I was so angry because I KNEW he had some light mods under the hood and the only reason I lost was because of the damn computer. How can I keep this from happening again besides mods? I want to keep it bone stock.

My dad has a 85 monte carlo ss with a 305 ho and it would outrun my 3rd gen with a 305. The have 180 horses and i think the camaro only has 140 carbed or 170 with the tuned port. that is for the 305. So, the monte had more power anyway. I dont know why, but those are the numbers on paper anyway. You can get a jet chip and it will eliminate the rev and speed limiter. It will run a little better too.
