a buddy of mine just bought a 1996 camaro and said he wanted to race me. i started asking him about the car and he said it had a 308. i did not think that that motor came in that year. i thought they only had the 3.8 and the 5.7 but i could be wrong.

 

Your right, either the 3.8 or 5.7. Maybe he meant 3.8?

there are no z28 badges on it so i would guess its not. if it is the 308, are those motors any good in generalbecause he thinks it could beat anything (i dont know to much about chevy motors).

 

it's probably the 3.8..those guys tend to think they are really fast.

 

There's no such animal as a 308, unless it's a slightly over-bored 305. Without Z28 badges, it's a v6 car, so he must have the 3.8.
Just because he now owns a Camaro, doesn't mean he knows them! When I was shopping for a third gen last year, the owner advertised it as an RS "Plus" Check out the rear bumper emblem. [8D]
