Hmm at least 300 hp in a car that weighs about 3200 pounds, he's gonna walk you. Does he have disc brakes?

Disk brakes don't matter on a straight away. How is that relevant? lol. But for reference yes he has all new disks around.

Well I was gonna say if he didn't then you could laugh at him trying to stop his car and maybe laugh if he wrecked it. But never mind since he has all new disc brakes

The car has all new suspension, exhaust, motor, trans, rear end, and brakes. Basically it's completely rebuilt. Even has shiny new red paint and brand new interior. His parents are loaded!

Just because he's got a 302 doesn't mean he's got 300 horsepower. The 302-equipped 1982 'Stang only put out 157 horsepower. I wouldn't be surprised if he's only got around 200 horsepower under the hood.

But he said it was a 351 with and aftermarket cam, 4.11 gears, full exhaust system, and a 5-speed tranny.

There's really no way to tell the difference unless you have the two side by side cause then you can tell which one is which cause the intake manifold is wider on the 351 than the 302. I say just go for it and see what happens

The 351 ain't too scary either. Like the 302, there are weak versions and beastly versions. The guy's got 4.11 cogs and a 5-speed though, so I'm guessing that the 351 ain't a weak version. My guess now is around 350 horsepower at least. No one goes out buys 4.11 gears and a 5-speed for a 200 horsepower 351. So, but be prepared to be lose.

how much HP would he be making IF it really is the 351 with a 5-speed and aftermarket cam with 4.11 gears?
