07 rabbit wants to race me??
ok so i drove my car to work the other day and now this guy with a rabbit thinks hes gonna smoke me.
all i can find is that its a 150hp 5cyl. he says hes got the slap stick thing?
im gonna try an get a video of this. but my cars been being a dog lately.
i told him i hope i dont beat him too bad considering as hes still making payments and my car cost 2k ha.
basically ive found that if you have a camaro everyone wants to race all the time.
sucks cause my 305 is the slowest of the "fast" cars. but this rabbit just seems like a wack economy VW.
any thoughts?

I think you should win...
Just make sure he doesn't come at you with one of the new 2009 turbo rabbits. I just read an article about those, and damn, 250 hp in a 2500 pound car...that's a quick SOB![&:]

my friend has a 2008 Rabbit and it's spec's are 185hp... so i'm guessing they changed alot from 07 to 08
and btw, i smoked his car with my ION, but he just started driving 4months ago.

0-60 in 8.29 1/4 mile 16.27 I think it was car and driver. My brother has the GTI with the paddle shifters it is a blast to drive but I think its a differnt set up.

slap stick? 20 bucks says he has a standard center-shift auto and starts in low and "slaps" it into the next gear.

the "manumatic" isnt a slap stick though. thats like me saying i have a TA with a racing trans just because its a stick vs auto

The 91 LO3 305, as in this punks Camaro, was only putting out 170HP and 255lbs of TQ, and a 1/4 rating of mid 16's with an auto... Chances are, with a half decent driver, the VW will beat him.
