Upper intake manifold, Exhaust manifolds and EGR tube. Your going to want to reseal your lower intake. It is a common issue and its 20 minutes with the upper intake off. It is a huge pain to do it while it is in the car. Also replace the plastic elbow under the intake. I think if you buy an “intake gasket kit” it will give you everything.
The 97 stock exhaust manifolds are crap so if you can get the Y pipe to the 99 you may want to use the 99 manifold but I am not sure how that work with your O2 sensors. Some years have 4 sensors and some have only 3. If you have some spare cash it is a great time to install some headers. I did a 96 to 02 conversion a couple of years ago you can click on the link in my sig project 96.

i think its felpro, they make a lower intake manifold gasket kit called the problem eliminator.

If you have the engine out I say you do everything you can while its out. I would spend the $150 on the headgasket and oil pan gasket. Also consider get a valve job while its out. The headset comes with most everything you need like intake, exhaust and valve stem seals. These cars are not fun to work on with the engine inside.

i suggest you buy a newer 3800 seriesIII engine from a 04–08 pontiac grand prix 05–09 buick laCrosse or 06-08 buick lucerne there easy to find and pretty cheap (i can find them for 300-500 with 50k or less) its a stronger more powerful well built engine and all you have to do is swap over the accessories the exhaust and the intake
