In answer to the questions about shaved handles. There is an electrical solenoid in the door which pulls the latch to open. I used a 4 channel receiver to open the doors remotely or there is a hidden push button switch also. The third and fourth channels raise or lower the car but they could be used for trunk, power windows or whatever you want.
CBR: Here a pic of the engine. Outwardly it is nothing special, the budget was eaten up by internals. Not much bling and kind of dirty from sitting.

Nice looking engine you got there JR.

did you shave the door handles yourself ? or how was it done if you know ?
#14
I did the handles myself. After removing the handle and lock I closed the holes in the door by welding in a couple pieces of steel. The door latch needed a little addition to the lever (where the pen is pointed in the pic). The solenoids are mounted in the lower back of the door with a steel cable running up to the latch. In the pic the yellow outline is the solenoid and routing of the cable. The four screws are what holds the solenoid. I used 35# solenoids and installed 50# poppers in the forward door jamb to help push the door open.

This is gonna make me sound really old but I had shaved door handles with Solonoids & Poppers on an 89 Custom GMC StepSide I used to have... back in 1989!! I had buttons mounted on the bottom side under the mirror on each side to pop that door. Had a power shut off in the fender on the drivers side with coke machine key lock. It was a sweet set up, "Back in the Day"! we didnt have remotes back then.
