Well as I was setting the timing I noticed the brand new balance shaft belt has a rip in it... wtf. Luckily I'm good friends with the guys at the parts store and there going to replace it

i sprayed the inside of the housings black to darken up the lens, there is some night shade on there but its very light (that way they apear to be very dark, but the lights will shine through very well)

ill get another pick a little later when its darker of the lights on.

 

Quick update

So the motors all in and ready to go, I tried to start it and it won't fire Turns out the auto timing tensioner is shot and its pulling the intake cam a couple teeth. So I called the parts store, they want 145$, not happening. Than I found a manual tensioner online 99$ (everyone upgrades to the manual tensioner the auto has a lot of problems) I still didn't want to spend that so I made one today for free tomorrow I'll see if she fires.

No, ended up I had no compression. I think it was the headgasket not sealing around the cylinders good. I ordered a new thicker headgasket, should be here around Wednesday.

 

Dam that sucks.I'm trying to get my build off the ground since I'm pulling my motor and my tranny to rebuild the transmission then put back in as a whole unit I'm going to try and have a 5.7 rebuilt and ready to bolt up.but right now it's at a complete stop since my dad tore his rotator cuff tendon in half and he is the one who dose all my engine and tranny work we are at a halt I can pull it no problem it's just the rebuilding and reinstalling that gets me
