I am still wondering why the induction is geared toward a high winding motor. I honestly don't think the semi stock 305 bottom end is gonna like much more than 5500 rpm. I guarantee it will puke after a few pulls to 8000.

Be sure to drape a net below the oil pan to catch the parts!

On the water pump issue not aligning. It might be that you have a short water pump, and from the look of your pulley setup you need the long water pump.

LMAO.... Yep... I am running the 71 LT-1 , and it pulls to 7000...Maybe more, but that is where I shift..6500 or so...

But it has 4 bolt. heavy duty caps, screw in studs, 2.02's, ect...

A 305 should be made to go to about 5500 or 6000...

But a small block in a Z car...woo hoo.....Shift sooner and last longer..More fun that way...

I will be setting my new MSD to 6500rpm...

So what's going on with the car/engine swap? Have you got the water pump figured out? Any forward movement on the install? Did the guys questions about rpm's put you off and you're not here anymore?
