1969 Nova gasser

Thought I'd post some pics of the '69 Nova gasser I've been building for a friend. A little off beat, but this is my buddy's Nova that I've been helping him build lately.
The engine is a full roller 350, bored .030", with Offenhouser tunnel ram. Headers are Tri 5 Chevy. Rear axle is a 3.73 posi, 8.8" Ford, trans is a T56 six speed, front axle is a Econoline that we converted to Aerostar rotors, and GM calipers, and rear is stock Explorer disc brakes. Hand built ladder bars. Hood isn't on it, but it's a fiberglass cowl induction cut for the tunnel ram and scoop to clear. It will be a lift off, as it's a lightweight. All the luxuries of power steering and power brakes too!
Stock interior, with bucket seats, and a 4 point roll bar. That's the original factory red paint! Not perfect, but pretty decent for 45 yr. old paint!

We've got a few more days work, and it will be road ready!

Thanks! Not sure if he'll put a name on this one or not yet. I told him a few common Nova drag car names NOT to use, just because they're over used!

Neat, would never think to use this style nova for a gasser.

We figured the 1st and 2nd gen Nova were done plenty of times as gassers, so he wanted something more unique, and also more available. Seems the 1st-2nd gen Nova are getting stupid prices. Especially the 2nd gens! He purchased this one as a complete driver with the engine for $4k. He sold the tires and Cragar S/S wheels, plus trans, rearend, and a bunch of other parts. Ended up recouping almost $800, so it was a cheap build as cars go. Most of what he sold paid for what we bought. The front axle was $65, and the rear was $200. He bought a '95 Camaro to get the T56, and sold the engine for almost what he paid for the whole car, and after parting the rest he got paid to keep the T56.
It's a real budget build, if we don't count the hours we've spent on it.
