Default 1956 Chevy Custom "Miss Taboo"

I had this in the lounge but ill move it over to the correct section. here is the car my grandfather and i are currently working on. its a old custom that been in the portland area its whole life.

car is a 56 chevy 150. been reworked with 57 chrysler headlights, 60 chrysler tail lights, 59 impala bumpers and roll pans front and rear. suicide doors pancaked hood and trunk. also 56 chevy bel air trim reworked.

first thing we did was remove the horrible interior and toss the wood console and the 4 bucket seats. replaced with front and rear seats and the console out of a 1960 t-bird. they are in the car for mock up and for storage

next we sold the dual fours off the motor and got a 6x2 set up with 97's for carbs. sold the 97s going to run rochester 2gcs. also threw away the suicide hood latch and hinges put stock hinges back on but we are leaving the pancaked hood

next we pulled the motor to get ready to smooth the firewall and add a filler panel between the rad support and the front of the car.

next we took most of the nose apart. removed the grille, bumper, roll pans, head light chrome ring and inner panel, hood,

next step was to fix the huge cut in the dash.

currently the project has been at a stand still got the filler all welded in and still debating on whether to cut the side exaust off or not.

Wow! Didn't realise you guys were taking that old Chevy so far! Guess I thought it was just getting a few minor changes and hit the road again. It was nice before, but I like the changes too!

i got pictures of the complete life of thr car since was bought used in 57. im thinking of posting them as a time line to show its amazing history.
