Who Knows Nitrous Tuning?
 
Okay, here's what I've got. Installed a new 383 stroker, 10.2:1 compression, Eagle steel crank, eagle rods, SpeedPro hypereutectic pistons. For heads I used 64cc aluminum 2.02/1.94. Intake is an Air Gap with Holley 750 single shot. Engine dynos at 445hp. Ignition is still the HEI. I am thinking about a 75 or 100 shot of NOS. I have never played with nitrous before and most articles are geared more towards the larger shot. First, I plan on upgrading the HEI with a Pertronix Flame Thrower will this provide enough fire? Second, what is the best curve/total advance to run? Last, what added demands does the NOS sytem put on the fuel delivery(pump size/gph)? Any help is appreciated, don't want to waste money, want it to run good right from the start.

a 255lph pump will be sufficient for you. Im not a carb guy so I dont know everything ur talking about, but:
for nitrous you always want to go with a colder spark. your spark intensity is probably sufficient, but you will want to change out your plugs for something a step colder. This will help you avoid detonation and engine damage.

There is no way to tell you what curve and timing to run, there are too many variables. If you want to do it the cheap and lazy way (which looking at ur motor build it appears ur just not that type of guy [8D]) you can just jet it rich, and retard the timing a few degrees and you should be fine. However, to do it right you will want to put a wideband sniffer in it, make sure that however you are jetting you are in the 12.5 AFR range. If you dont want to do that then just tune off the plugs. Hook it up, and jet a little rich and pull a little timing, then do a good hard run and pull the spark plugs and check them. corroded = too much timing or too lean, dirty = too rich. Start rich and retarded, and work ur way leaner/more timing
