1967 RS Twin turbo bbc efi
I just thought I would add a thread about my latest build. I have tons more pics at home but this gives you an idea. I am about 1 month away from tuning. Once I can finish my 4 link and 9" install it's going on the rollers. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask
I still have power steering on it with full interior. Going to run a 325 et street drag radial under it. My 4th gen camaro has 335's but I don't think I will be able to fit the 335 without modifying my frame.. 325 should do just fine. I like the old school rally look with 15's anyways
1967 RS Camaro
Merlin III Block 540 BBC 4.5" bore 6.385" rod 4.25" stroke
Merlin Aluminum 2.3 / 1.88" Rectangular Port Heads 350CC
Mahle Forged & Coated Dish Blower Pistons 8:1 compression
4340 HP Rotating assembly w/ H beam rods & L19 Rod bolts
Solid Roller Custom Grind Comp Cam w/ full roller rockers & girdle
120lb injectors, 90MM throttle body, twin walbro pumps
Twin T-67 T4 Garrett Polished Turbos W/ Liquid Aftercooler
Tremec TKO 600 W/ custom ram twin disc clutch rated to 1350 wheel
Moser 9" w/ 35 spline, wave trac diff, 3.50 gears & wilwood 4 piston brakes
wilwood cross drilled / slotted 6 piston front disc brakes
custom 4 link rear suspension w/ qa1 front coil overs
etc etc etc... You get the idea..
I am happy to be here and will post my dyno numbers as soon as I finish installing my brakes and rear end. Thanks guys!
built the headers from scratch out of schedule 40 stainless.
hooking everything up
this is a older pic without the inner fenders in.. we have inner fenders now.

Beautiful! Those turbos are awfully big. The compressors flow 75lb/min. With good tuning, that means 1500 wheel horsepower is possible from them. The neat part is that you'll still probably spool them before 3k with that huge 540. Looking to make 7s on it? hehe What are you using to drive the injection? Does it also do any kind of DIS? You'll have a much easier time dialing things in if you can get rid of the distributor.

that's where I am right now. Kind of been awhile since my last post.. We are still slowly tuning the car and working out the little bugs that you come to expect in a build like this.. but so far with insanely safe timing my car put down 1150 wheel 1300 tq on the dyno, I can post the graph and vid if you want. I am actually pretty upset with the numbers because I thought it would do much better so we are trying to figure out what the deal is.
The car has zero turbo lag, the boost onset is instant. It feels like an 11:1 NA car when I hit the gas, pretty insane. For my injection I am running the megasquirt II 3.57 with spark/fuel control & 120lb injectors. It works pretty well the problem is not many people in my area specializes in it, so it's taking us a lot more time to figure it out but overall it's a great system.
Right now we are dealing with heat.. I am having a hell of a time with underhood temps. I bought some custom blankets for my manifolds and custom turbo blankets for my turbo housings and they just made my problems worse which makes no sense. With my header blanket and turbo blanket the underhood temps were cut down 3/4, it was amazing.. However after 10 minutes of driving on 7 lbs of boost the housings and headers were glowing orange. It kept all the heat out of the engine bay but put it all in my pipes which about melted my turbos, So I am trying to figure out what I can do about it.. I took my blankets back off and my underhood temps are way high but at least nothing is glowing orange on me.. I knew I would deal with heat one day and sure enough that's where I am right now and not sure how to fix it.

btw I got rid of the ugly *** aftercooler and added a FMIC and cleaned up all my wiring.. I think it looks much better now.. The pics are still a little dusty because I haven't had a chance to really clean my car yet. the pic is with my blankets on but I had to take them back off tonight because of my heating issues..

amazingly with my custom 4 link and coil over suspension and my M&H 325/60/15 drag radials DEAD HOOKS on the street in 1st gear @ 7psi.. Which is insanely awesome if you ask me. 7-8 psi I still made close to 800 whp and to hook on the street without spinning the tires with that kind of power is awesome. I couldn't be happier with my suspension.
