Try to find one to drive first to make sure you can live with it, because as the adage goes, you get what you pay for. The rear mount turbos are cheap in more than initial price. They just don' work on a car as well as the more expensive at-the-manifold systems.

the rear mount turbo systems are, IMO the lazy mans turbo. turbo kits are expensive and complicated for a reason. the more exhaust flow a turbo gets, the faster it will spool andthe more effiecient it is. the problem with a rear mount turbo, is that the exhaust loses velocity causing horrendous turbo lag. also the plumbing is very complex, coming from the back of the car to the front just seems redundant to me. but hey, if your happy with it, enjoy, heat wrap all your exhaust if you wish, it wont give youa noticeable power gain, and may trap moisture on the exhaust pipe causing corrosion and then leaks.

it might be better for a road racing application because the motor might already be making enough power to loose traction exiting the corner, having a fast spooling turbo would be suicide. the lag can actually help in getting a clean exit before big boost hits.

If rear mounted turbos were all that, the factories wouldn't go through all the trouble and expense to mount them as close to the engine as possible. They like to save money too.
