Default V6 Preventative Maintenance

Yesterday morning i went out to start my car only to hear the dreadfull starter "click"... after inspecting all the wiring from my battery to the alternator then to the starter.. i found what i thought was the ground wire for my starter corroded into two separate pieces.. later on in the day after going to Auto Zone to get a new grounding cable i put my car on my lift and realized that the starter is grounded to the block and the block is grounded to the frame...
So my little tid-bit of preventative maintenance would be to locate the grounding strap and replace it with a more heavy duty insulated copper ground.. after the install my car started up with no problem..

If you follow your power wire from your battery to your starter you'll find the grounding wire im talking about located on the right motor mount to the left of the steering column. the ground shares a bolt with a clamp that holds the starter power wire to the block.. the Stock ground is a Flat braided copper strap thats extremely flimsy and corrodes easily..

I recommend replacing this $4.73 wire to save yourself alot of hassle in the future.

i always solve the grounding problems on camaros by using a piece of 2 guage wire from the body to the engine. eliminates questions when trying to troubleshoot electrical problems. Sick
