Hi Guys!
A little confused?
My car is badged as a RS
But! When I check the VIN number?
GM say its an Iroc ??
The Car is 1988 with a V8, I think 305.
Can anyone help to identify by the photo
Thats assuming my first attempt at image upload has worked.

I do not remember Vin number calling a model? what digit are you talking about? The 305 TBI came in both the base Iroc and it was the top end engine on the non-Z28 cars.

If I am remembering right you should have a option sticker in the glove box. That will list all the options the car came with.

Simple answer to your question, there was no RS in 1988, that model came back for the 1989 model year. There were only 2 models available for 88, Base and IROC-Z. Also, there isn't an IROC designation in the VIN.
Your car, or at least the front bumper has been repainted; the headlight inset areas were black.
Also, yours doesn't have a Z28 hood, which had 2 long black "grilles".
It's looking like you may have a base model there. Somebody definitely added the RS badges, or body parts from an RS were transplanted to yours, perhaps it was wrecked?
Very nice looking car you have there, regardless.

That would explain why there is no RS option on the 88 options page I linked :)
