Default New from Ohio just bought 1st camaro have a few questions

Just purchased a 1986 Z28. Seems to run really strong for a Z28. Transmission is very tight. If you floor it when you take off you will just sit there and white smoke the tires, when you finally take off it will hit about 45mph (orange line at 4500) and shift and burn the tires again. Wondering if that is common for the 86 Z28. This is my first Camaro. Is is possible that someone put a shift kit in the car. I am the 3rd owner of the car. 68000 original miles, t-tops, all power a/c works. Seems the car sits awlfully low to the ground. Really fast. Looked up the vin. 305 tpi. Old owner said he knows nothing of the car just wanted to get rid of it. Paid $700.00 for the car. VIN said pushes 190 hp, but lots of torque. Wasent sure if someone has same car and could give me some insight on the car.
Thanks
Tim

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like maybe someone did a little something to it maybe. But if you didn't get any info from the previous owners, it's going to be impossible to tell from looking at it unless it's got a NOS line hooked up or something.
