Default New Menber

Hi thought I would introduce myself,

My names Chris, I live just outside Edinburgh in Scotland.

I have only had my 1985 Camaro 2.8 mpi for a couple of months, Ibought the car as a road going project, just got an MOT and the car is in various shades of primer at the moment.

I have in the past owned British classics liike Lotus Esprits, Excels and an Eclat and had a rgular driver of a 1974 Triumph Stag until a little old lady forgot where her brake pedal was and killed my Stag. I'm know using a 87 Ford Bronco II as my daily drive.

I do have one question at present, coming out of the inlet manifold there is a T-piece which has one pipe going to the brake booster and the other (small diameter) is not connected. Does anyone have any idea. Any help would be great waiting on a manual arriving at present.

Chris

Thanks Erin,

Traced the pipes got the all connected, seems to have cured my problem a bit. The car still needs a bit of tune up.

chris if y need any more help am an expert on the 2.8L because ive replace everything on mine! ck the manifold gasket for any vac leaks, use a can of carb cleaner while the car is running and her idle will go up when u find a leak! i just fix my massive leak mine runs so much stronger now!

Cheers Erin,

Im in the process of fitting a couple of donor doors and waiting on a new front wing (fender) and then its on to the rear arches, the drivers side is a mess. Somebodies had a go at repairing the rear arch and has done probably the worst job ever.

I probably could have got a decent car for a bit more than I paid for this one, but theres no challenge.

One question I do have what sort of milage should I get per gallon of fuel?

I'll check the manifold for leaks this weekend, since connecting up the pipe the car does not sttall any more, the revs go up and down a little. The car has not been used for about 2 years so I am going to give it a good thrash up th motorway this weekend and give it a good clean out hopefully.

I will be in touch as more problems appear, no doubt.

I dont know if I asked before, where about are you?

Feel free to get in touch via my email address if you wish.
